Rosie's Baking Powder Biscuits (V) Submitted by: Morlothwen Rating: 7.5 [Printer Friendly Display] Serves: Yield: 1 dozen Prep Time: Prep: 6 minutes Bake: 15 minutes Difficulty: Easy Description: These tasty biscuits are a family favorite in the Shire, and I'm sure it will become yours. Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tablesthingy baking powder 1/2 teasthingy salt 1/3 cup shortening 3/4 cups milk Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Combine first 3 ingredients; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Add milk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a floured surface, and knead lightly 3 or 4 times.
Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes or until golden.
