Hador Seventh Ruling Steward of Gondor. Hador was the son of Turin I. He was born in 2245. Hador was the last child of his father's second wife, and he had several older sisters. Hador became Steward in 2278. During Hador's reign, an adjustment was made to the Stewards' Reckoning, which was the calendar used in Gondor. An extra day was added to the year 2360 to make up for a deficit of eight hours that had accrued over the course of the centuries.
Hador died in 2395 at the age of 150. He was the last man of Gondor to live that long and after him the lifespans of his descendants decreased. Hador was succeeded as Steward by his son Barahir.
Names & Etymology: The name Hador means "thrower (of spears or darts)." Hador was also the name of the head of one of the Three Houses of the Edain in the First Age.
