Walda Twelfth King of Rohan. Walda was born in 2780. He was the son of the beloved King Brytta. During Brytta's reign, Orcs infested the White Mountains in Rohan. By the time Walda became King in 2842, it was wrongly believed that the Orcs had been driven out. In 2851 - just nine years into his reign - Walda was ambushed by Orcs while riding through the White Mountains from Dunharrow. Walda and all his companions were killed. He was succeeded by his son Folca, who managed to rout out the Orcs at last. Names & Etymology: The name Walda is from the Old English weald meaning "power."
