Arantar Fifth King of Arnor. Arantar was the son of King Eldacar. He was born in 185. In 339, Arantar became King upon the death of his father. He ruled until his death in 435 and was succeeded by his son Tarcil. Etymology: The name Arantar is composed of aran meaning "king" and tar meaning "high, lofty."
